Concentration #2
My concentration is to paint animals in thier habitat, by using the animals to form the landscape. I might use different parts of the animal or the whole body to put in the painting too. I have found myself painting a lot of hills or mountains. Thats what I usually start with. Then I usually paint the sky, and then the foreground. I also start with really light paint, then get darker as I go. I try and make sure they are balanced. like in the monkey mountain one, I tried to have them balance. It's hard to have movement in landscape, but I tried to keep the eye moving by having diagonal lines as much as possible. One of my goals is to move away from just hills and have more variety in the landscapes. Like the polar bear one, where it's an iceberg instead.

PNCA
I got to PNCA around noon and there were already super long lines.
So I looked for short ones and chose Emily Carr, I didn't really have any
colledges in mind.
One interesting peice of advice the lady gave me was to keep a sketch book of things in my imagination, not from observation, which isn't really what Ms. McBride wants us to do for our sketch books. She's the boss so I won't. But the reason for it is to make my work stand out from
other students work and it's "not just a picture of a tree."
The other colledges said similar things, that they look for the work that stands out and that the craftsman ship doesn't have to be perfect because "then why would you be going to colledge."
Im not sure I want to go to these colledges, but they gave me good advice on what they are
looking for in a portfolio and I will be better prepared next year.

Concentration rough draft
My concentration is landscape made up of animals to form the contours of the hills, the foliage and the water. Some include the actual size animal living in the habitat, where the animals forming the habitat gives a sense of ancestory. I want to have different animals from different environments from around the world to have diversity. One may be under water ( wich will be difficult).
I plan on using mostly acrylic paint
here are some mamals I would like to use in my concentration...
