March Concentration

  1. hmm i'm having trouble seeing the animals hidden in these ones...but maybe they're the kind of thing you need to see in real life. That could be a bad thing since all the AP stuff is done online, but then maybe that means you could just go back and exaggerate all of them?
I think I can see the top one and i like it, but it seems less tight and technical as your other pieces, and i think when you stray away from that intial quality they'll seem less mature. The background in the second one definitely needs to be pushed. i can't really say with what since I can't really distinguish what is going on in the piece or what you're trying to accomplish, but i know for sure some development would help it with depth and bringing the eye around the piece.

  2. Like Karen I'm also having trouble making out the animals in this, I'm sure that they'd be more clear though, if I looked hard at your pieces close up. In any case I feel that the work is become easier to take in as a whole as large scale shapes and focus points are forming in addition the the tried and true Kathryn style small detailing. The first piece I find very interesting. It's got defined blocks of colors which on a large scale could be taken in as pretty details. How big are these pieces? I feel like since I sit next to you in class I should really know this type of stuff but that just goes to show what a doofer I am when it comes to noticing things like that. In any case I feel that you have very strong technical skills and these two pieces show a more creative side to your skill.
